Artist Statement...
When my mind triggers an intense emotional response to a subject matter, color, shape, form, texture or sound, whether from the real visual world or an imaginary one, and when that response causes me to have an irresistible urge to create and share that beauty envisioned in my mind's eye with the world around me… that is when my art is born.
About Me...
I am a self‐taught artist who has always had a love and awe for color and design since early childhood. I primarily work with acrylics and oils, although I sometimes dabble in watercolors, glass paintings and charcoal drawings. I have been fascinated by the styles of various artists, ranging from Klimt, Salvador Dali, Georgia O’Keefe, Raja Ravi Varma, Vincent Van Gogh and Michelangelo, to current‐day artists. My styles range from the realistic to abstractism.
Although I've been living in America since the mid-90's, I was born and raised in the exotic land of India, and one can see these cultural influences in some of my paintings.
I have had no formal training in art; but instead, have obtained an MBA in Finance and have worked in the Wall Street world of Investment Banking for several years, while still pursuing my hobby and one true passion of art. I have recently decided to leave the corporate world and dedicate my time to my family and to pursue and forge my passionate hobby into something more...
